Kresge Art Museum received a grant in 2003 from the
E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation to bring Asian
art consultants to review the Museum’s Asian art collection.
With approximately 250 Japanese
Ukiyo-e woodblock prints,
the collection includes important works by Kuniyoshi and
Kunisada, as well as numerous modern prints by Yoshida Masaji
that are particularly notable. These, in addition to the
selection of Japanese and Chinese paintings and ceramics,
make a well-rounded study collection of East Asian Art.
