Elder HeART Tours

Other Tour Options at Kresge Art Museum: University Students & Classes, School, Group, Video, Cell Phone, and Gesso Project.

Kresge Art Museum's goal is to share the rich and satisfying experience of art with people living with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias and with those who care for them. This segment of the population has limited access to meaningful and engaging activities, and this wonderful program offers them the opportunity for interactive conversations and thoughtful self-expression.

Elder HeART tours, in development for the past year, were piloted in the Fall of 2009, by a group of specially-trained docents and are now available to the general public. Bonney Mayers and Betsy Fischer, Elder HEaRT creators and coordinators, particularly hope to connect with individuals and their caregivers, both often isolated and lonely, and also welcome groups from area facilities.

Spring tours for individuals and caregivers scheduled on Friday, May 13, June 10, and July 8, 2011.

For questions or to schedule a tour, contact education coordinator Cari Wolfe at 517-884-0653 or wolfeca1@msu.edu. Please view the PDF of the Elder HeART brochure for complete details.

If you have a wheelchair to donate, or would like to make a financial contribution to support the Elder HeART program, please contact Cari Wolfe.
