New Name, New Face

• In 1984, to reflect the changed status and growth of the collection, now numbering nearly 4,000 objects, and the increased number of staff, the “Gallery” is officially recognized by the university’s Board of Trustees as the “Kresge Art Museum.”
• In 1986, Dr. Susan J. Bandes is named as the third director of the Kresge Art Museum.
